The VSAN Thermocouple is a rugged, fast-response temperature sensor designed for accurate measurement of low, medium, and extremely high temperatures in industrial processes. It is widely used in applications where rapid temperature response, durability, and reliable performance under harsh operating conditions are essential. Thermocouples are one of the most commonly used temperature sensors due to their wide measuring range, simple construction, and ability to withstand high temperatures, vibration, and corrosive environments.
The VSAN Thermocouple operates by converting thermal energy directly into a small electrical voltage using the Seebeck Effect. It consists of two dissimilar metal conductors joined together at one end to form the measuring junction. When this junction is exposed to temperature, a thermoelectric voltage is generated, which is proportional to the temperature difference between the measuring junction and the reference junction. This voltage is then measured and converted into an accurate temperature reading by a temperature transmitter, indicator, PLC, or controller.
The VSAN Thermocouple is manufactured using premium-quality thermoelement materials and is available in various internationally standardized types including Type K, Type J, Type T, Type E, Type N, Type R, Type S, and Type B, making it suitable for a wide variety of industrial applications.
Designed with robust SS304, SS316, SS316L, Inconel, Ceramic, and Mineral Insulated (MI) construction, the thermocouple provides excellent resistance to high temperatures, pressure, corrosion, and mechanical vibration. It is available in Simplex and Duplex configurations, with grounded, ungrounded, and exposed junctions, depending on application requirements.
The sensor can be supplied with threaded, flanged, thermowell-mounted, bayonet, compression fitting, and custom process connections, allowing easy installation in pipelines, reactors, furnaces, tanks, boilers, ovens, and process equipment.
The VSAN Thermocouple is compatible with Temperature Transmitters, PLC, DCS, SCADA Systems, Digital Indicators, Data Loggers, and Process Controllers, enabling seamless integration into industrial automation systems. Manufactured according to international standards such as IEC 60584, it delivers reliable, repeatable, and long-lasting temperature measurement even in demanding industrial environments.
The VSAN Thermocouple is widely used in Power Plants, Steel Industries, Cement Plants, Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing, Petrochemical Industries, Glass Manufacturing, Heat Treatment Furnaces, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical Industries, Marine Applications, HVAC Systems, and Industrial Automation, where high-temperature measurement is essential for process safety and efficiency.
The VSAN Thermocouple operates on the Seebeck Effect.
Two dissimilar metal conductors are joined together to form a measuring junction. When this junction is exposed to heat, a small thermoelectric voltage (EMF) is generated due to the temperature difference between the measuring junction and the reference junction.
The generated voltage is directly proportional to the process temperature. This millivolt signal is transmitted to a temperature transmitter, indicator, or controller, where it is converted into an accurate temperature value using standard thermocouple reference tables.
Different thermocouple types are designed for different temperature ranges and process conditions, enabling accurate temperature measurement from cryogenic applications to extremely high-temperature industrial furnaces.
The simple construction, fast response, and ability to withstand harsh environments make thermocouples one of the most reliable temperature sensing devices for industrial applications.
The VSAN Thermocouple is widely used for high-accuracy temperature measurement in demanding industrial processes.
