The VSAN Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter is a portable, high-precision flow measurement instrument designed for temporary flow monitoring, field inspections, maintenance activities, system verification, and energy audits. Based on advanced Transit-Time Ultrasonic Technology, the device accurately measures the flow rate of clean liquids without interrupting the process or modifying the existing pipeline. Since the ultrasonic transducers are mounted externally on the pipe surface, there is no need for pipe cutting, welding, drilling, or process shutdown, making it an ideal solution for on-site flow measurement.
Engineered for portability and ease of use, the VSAN Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter is lightweight, battery-powered, and equipped with a high-resolution color display for clear visualization of flow parameters. The instrument is capable of measuring instantaneous flow rate, flow velocity, totalized flow, signal strength, operating status, and diagnostic information, enabling maintenance engineers to quickly assess system performance.
The handheld unit supports a wide range of pipe sizes, materials, and process conditions, making it suitable for applications involving water, chilled water, hot water, cooling water, treated water, and other homogeneous clean liquids. With its rechargeable battery, built-in memory, USB data transfer, and optional data logging capabilities, the flow meter is an excellent tool for commissioning, troubleshooting, leak detection, and performance evaluation.
Designed for industrial environments, the VSAN Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter provides reliable, repeatable, and maintenance-free measurements, making it an essential instrument for utility management, process optimization, and preventive maintenance across various industries.
The VSAN Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter operates using the Transit-Time Ultrasonic Principle. Two clamp-on ultrasonic transducers are temporarily fixed on the outside of the pipeline at a calculated distance from each other.
One transducer transmits ultrasonic pulses in the direction of the fluid flow, while the other transmits pulses against the direction of flow. When the liquid is flowing, the ultrasonic signal traveling downstream reaches the receiving transducer slightly faster than the signal traveling upstream. The instrument precisely measures this transit-time difference using advanced digital signal processing.
Based on the measured transit-time difference, the flow velocity is calculated. By combining the velocity with the pipe's internal diameter and cross-sectional area, the instrument accurately determines the volumetric flow rate.
Since the sensors never come into contact with the process fluid, the measurement is completely non-invasive, eliminating pressure loss, contamination, leakage, and mechanical wear. This ensures accurate, repeatable, and maintenance-free operation while preserving the integrity of the existing pipeline.
The VSAN Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter is widely used for temporary flow measurement, maintenance, and system performance analysis across various industries.
