The VSAN Y Strainer is a highly efficient pipeline protection device designed to remove unwanted solid particles, debris, rust, welding slag, scale, and other contaminants from liquids, gases, steam, and process fluids. Installed upstream of pumps, control valves, flow meters, pressure reducing valves, heat exchangers, and other critical equipment, the VSAN Y Strainer protects process systems from damage, wear, and operational failures caused by foreign particles.
Manufactured using high-quality Cast Iron, Cast Steel, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316/SS316L), Duplex Stainless Steel, and other special alloys, the VSAN Y Strainer is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. The compact Y-shaped body provides excellent filtration performance while maintaining low pressure loss and easy maintenance.
The removable stainless steel perforated screen or wire mesh element effectively captures contaminants while allowing uninterrupted fluid flow. The blow-off plug or drain connection enables quick cleaning without dismantling the complete pipeline, thereby reducing maintenance time and improving system reliability.
Designed in accordance with international standards such as ASME, ANSI, DIN, BS, and API, the VSAN Y Strainer is available in threaded, flanged, socket weld, and butt weld end connections with pressure ratings from PN10 to ANSI Class 150, 300, 600, and higher. Its rugged construction and corrosion-resistant materials ensure long service life even in demanding industrial environments.
The VSAN Y Strainer is widely used across Water Treatment Plants, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Power Generation, HVAC, Marine, Food & Beverage, Steel, Cement, Paper & Pulp, and Process Industries where reliable pipeline protection is essential.
The VSAN Y Strainer operates on a simple mechanical filtration principle. As the process fluid enters the strainer body, it passes through a perforated stainless steel screen or wire mesh filter element. Solid particles larger than the mesh opening are retained inside the screen, while the clean fluid flows through the outlet without interruption.
As contaminants accumulate, the pressure drop across the strainer gradually increases. The collected debris can be removed by opening the drain plug or removing the filter screen during scheduled maintenance. This prevents foreign particles from reaching downstream equipment, ensuring reliable operation and extending equipment life.
