The VSAN Differential Pressure (DP) Transmitter is a high-performance smart pressure measuring instrument designed to accurately measure the difference in pressure between two process points. It is widely used in industrial process control applications for monitoring flow, level, filter condition, density, pressure drop, and interface level measurement, providing precise and reliable process data for efficient plant operation.
The transmitter measures the pressure difference between the High Pressure (HP) port and the Low Pressure (LP) port and converts it into a standardized electrical output signal. This differential pressure measurement is extensively used for flow measurement across primary elements such as Orifice Plates, Venturi Tubes, Flow Nozzles, Pitot Tubes, and Annubar Flow Elements, as well as for level measurement in pressurized tanks, filter monitoring, pump performance monitoring, and boiler drum level applications.
The VSAN Differential Pressure Transmitter utilizes advanced piezoresistive, capacitive, or silicon sensor technology (depending on the model) to deliver exceptional measurement accuracy, stability, and long-term reliability. It features a rugged stainless steel measuring cell with high overload protection and excellent resistance to vibration, corrosion, and harsh industrial environments.
Manufactured using premium materials such as SS316L, Hastelloy C, Monel, Tantalum, Duplex Stainless Steel, and other corrosion-resistant alloys, the transmitter is suitable for measuring liquids, gases, steam, and corrosive process media across a wide range of industrial applications.
The VSAN Differential Pressure Transmitter provides 4–20 mA analog output, with optional HART Protocol, RS485 Modbus RTU, Profibus PA, and Foundation Fieldbus communication, enabling seamless integration with PLC, DCS, SCADA, Distributed Control Systems, and Industrial Automation Networks.
Available in Gauge, Differential, Remote Seal, Flanged, and Diaphragm Seal configurations, the transmitter supports multiple process connections including NPT, BSP, Flanged, and Remote Capillary Systems, making it suitable for diverse industrial installations.
The transmitter incorporates advanced digital electronics for automatic temperature compensation, linearization, self-diagnostics, sensor fault detection, programmable measuring ranges, and zero/span calibration, ensuring dependable performance even under fluctuating process conditions.
Designed to international standards, the VSAN Differential Pressure Transmitter is available in Weatherproof (IP65/IP67/IP68) and Flameproof/Explosion-Proof (Ex-proof) versions for hazardous area installations.
The VSAN Differential Pressure Transmitter is widely used in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical Processing, Power Plants, Water & Wastewater Treatment, Pharmaceutical Industries, Food & Beverage Processing, Steel Plants, Cement Industries, Marine Applications, HVAC Systems, OEM Equipment, and Industrial Automation, where precise differential pressure measurement is essential for safe and efficient process control.
With its high accuracy, excellent repeatability, robust construction, and advanced communication capabilities, the VSAN Differential Pressure Transmitter delivers reliable long-term performance for critical industrial measurement applications.
The VSAN Differential Pressure Transmitter operates on the Differential Pressure Measurement Principle.
The transmitter has two pressure ports:
Process pressure from each side is applied to an internal sensing element. The transmitter continuously measures the pressure difference between the HP and LP ports.
The sensing element converts the differential pressure into an electrical signal using advanced piezoresistive or capacitive sensor technology. An internal microprocessor processes the signal by performing temperature compensation, linearization, and calibration before converting it into a standardized 4–20 mA analog output or digital communication signal.
When used with primary flow elements such as an Orifice Plate or Venturi Tube, the transmitter measures the pressure drop created by the restriction. Since the differential pressure is proportional to the square of the flow rate, the connected controller calculates the actual process flow.
Similarly, when installed on pressurized tanks, boilers, or filtration systems, the transmitter accurately measures liquid level, filter clogging, or pressure loss by continuously monitoring the pressure difference between two process points.
This highly reliable measuring principle provides precise and continuous monitoring for a wide range of industrial applications.
The VSAN Differential Pressure Transmitter is widely used for flow, level, pressure, and filtration monitoring in various industrial sectors.
